Milan Digital Picture Frame User Guide
The Milan Digital Picture Frame will play your photographs and pictures as a slideshow, play music and film. Easy to use with a fully functional remote control, we hope it gives you hours of enjoyment and allows you to show your pictures in new and exciting ways.

BEFORE YOU START - PLEASE READ
1. Unpack the box being careful not to touch the LCD screen on the Digital Photo Frame.
2. Keep out of reach of children - take care as you would any electrical device.
3. Before you operate the Digital Photo Frame, please read this User Guide.
4. Check the contents inside the box you will find the Digital Photo Frame, Power Adaptor, Stand, Remote Control, AV Leads & USB cable.
5. Only use the Power Adaptor included with the Digital Picture Frame. DO NOT use any other adaptor.
6. Avoid using the Digital Picture Frame in direct sunlight, in humid conditions (such as bathroom or utility room), or anywhere with excessive heat or where there is a risk of contact with water.
7. Do not press the screen. Like TV’s, computer monitors and mobile phones, Digital Picture Frame LCD screens are delicate.
8. Do not cover the ventilation holes on the back of the Digital Picture Frame, circulation of air is essential for the smooth running of the Digital Picture Frame.
9. The Power Adaptor is designed for use in the UK. Please use the appropriate power convertor if using abroad.
10. Do not rest anything on the power cable.
11. If you use an extension cord, please ensure correct UK voltage.
12. Do not drop, bump or hit the Digital Picture Frame - take care as you would any electrical device.
13. Take care when inserting Memory Cards in to the slots in the Digital Picture Frame. Insert the correct card in the correct slot and insert the correct way round - DO NOT force the memory cards into the slots.
14. Before cleaning, always disconnect from the Power Adaptor. Use a soft, lint-free cloth to clean. Do not use any harsh abrasives, cleaning solution or other soluble substance.
15. The Digital Picture Frame gets warm to the touch. Take care when handling the product and keep out of reach of children.
16. Position the Digital Picture Frame on a flat surface. Turn off the power before moving.
17. A few highlight or dark spots may appear on the LCD screen. It is common on all LCD devices and does not necessarily mean the screen has defects or failures.
18. Do not open the Digital Picture Frame. It is dangerous as it is electrical and you will invalidate the Warranty.
19. Turn off the Digital Picture Frame and unplug from the power socket for extended periods without i.e. overnight, to save power.
SETTING UP THE FRAME FOR OPERATION
1. Gently Attach the Stand to the back of the Digital Frame being careful not to force the Stand in (it will ‘click’ into place). You can position the Stand so that the Digital Picture Frame is either in portrait or landscape mode.
2. Take the battery seal off the bottom of the Remote Control to activate the battery.
3. Insert your Memory Source into the appropriate memory slot at the side of the Digital Picture Frame.
4. Insert the Power Adaptor into the wall socket and into the Digital Picture Frame.
5. Turn on the Digital Picture Frame.
6. After a few seconds you will be presented with the Main Title Screen, the Digital Picture Frame is now ready to use.
HOW TO OPERATE THE DIGITAL PICTURE FRAME

USING THE DIGITAL PICTURE FRAME
You will use the ‘DIRECTION’ keys on the remote control to move the cursor around the screen. Pressing ‘ENTER’ will select the item and pressing ‘OSD’ will take you back a place. You can also control the Digital Picture Frame using the keys on the top of the Frame and the keys on the Frame replicate the keys on the Remote Control.
PHOTO MEMORY SOURCE
The Digital Picture Frame is compatible with SD, MMC, MS, CF and XD Memory Cards. You can also use a USB Flash Drive via the USB port.
Please turn off the Digital Picture Frame before inserting or removing a Memory Source (Memory Card or USB Flash Drive) to ensure there is no corruption of data. Insert your Memory Source into the relevant slot in the frame (see diagram further down) being careful to insert the correct way and not forcing the Memory Card or USB drive into the slot and turn the Digital Picture Frame on.
If you have inserted a Memory Source the relevant icon will appear in colour (rather than black and white). From here you can select using the ‘DIRECTION’ keys on the Remote. Press ‘ENTER’ to select. Pressing ‘OSD’ on the Remote at any time will bring
you back through the menu to the ‘Main Title’ screen. Note: NAND is not a usable function in this frame.
REMOTE CONTROL FUNCTION KEYS
Full operation of the Digital Picture Frame takes place with the Remote Control.
AV - Turn on Audio/Visual Output from Digital Frame.
POWER - Pressing at any time takes the Digital Frame into stand-by.
MUTE - Mutes volumes on current music file or movie file.
VIEW - Activate thumbnail view screen.
ROTATE - Rotates the current playing picture by 90 degrees.
ZOOM - Zoom picture to get close-up views.
MENU - Activates 4:3 or 16:9 picture format when viewing pictures.
OSD - Pressing this will move back to the previous position when using the menu screens.
COMBO - Immediate access to the COMBO functionality and plays music tracks and
photo slideshow simultaneously.
UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT - Direction keys move cursor around screen for selection.
ENTER - Press to activate the field the cursor has highlighted.
REWIND - Rewinds the current playing music or movie file.
FAST FOWARD - Fast forwards the current playing file.
STOP - Stops current playing music, video or picture file
GO BACK - Selects previous picture, music track or movie.
SKIP - Selects the next picture, music track or movie.
PLAY / PAUSE - Pauses or plays the current file.
VOL+/- Increases or decreases volume.
USING THE DIGITAL PICTURE FRAME
You will use the ‘DIRECTION’ keys on the remote control to move the cursor around the screen. Pressing ‘ENTER’ will select the item and pressing ‘OSD’ will take you back a place. You can also control the Digital Picture Frame using the keys on the top of the Frame and the keys on the Frame replicate the keys on the Remote Control.
MAIN TITLE SCREEN
When you switch on your Digital Picture Frame for the first time, you will be presented with the Main title Screen. On this screen you will have 8 icons and each icon represents the different functions of the Frame. Use the DIRECTION Keys (LEFT / RIGHT / UP / DOWN) on the Remote Control move the highlight box around and press ENTER to select.
PHOTO - Play your photos as a slideshow
MUSIC - Play music tracks
COMBO - Play music whilst watching a slideshow
MOVIE - Play your personal movie files
E-BOOK - Read e-books
EDIT - Transfer files between Memory Cards and Computers
SETTINGS - Set up you personal preferences for the Digital Frame such as clock, alarm,
screen brightness etc
CALENDAR - Display a calendar on your Digital Frame
PHOTO
PHOTOGRAPH/PICTURE SLIDESHOW
To start a photo slideshow, on the Main Title Screen, use the ‘DIRECTION’ keys on the remote control to move the yellow box and then select the PHOTO option by pressing ‘ENTER’. Remember, pressing ‘OSD’ at any time will take you back to where you were previously.
PHOTO MEMORY SOURCE
When a Memory Source is inserted, the relevant icon will be in colour. Select the appropriate icon by using the ‘DIRECTION’ keys on the remote and then pressing ‘ENTER’.
MEMORY SOURCE FOLDER
You will see the folders and files on the Memory Source. Select the Folder and Press ‘ENTER’ (Note: You can re-arrange the contents and order of the files on the Memory Source on your computer which may be useful if you want to change the order the files are played).
MEMORY SOURCE FILES
Next you will see a list of the photo’s on your Memory Source. A thumbnail image will appear on the right as you scroll though each photo using the ‘UP and ‘DOWN’ keys. Press ‘ENTER’ at any point and your slideshow will start from there.
MUSIC
PLAYING MUSIC
To start playing music, on the Main Title Screen, use the ‘DIRECTION’ keys on the remote control to move the yellow box and then select the MUSIC option by pressing ‘ENTER’. Remember, pressing ‘OSD’ at any time will take you back to where you were previously.
MUSIC ON-SCREEN MENU
Whilst a music track is playing, pressing ‘ENTER’ on the remote control will bring up the on-screen menu banner. Use the ‘LEFT’ and ‘RIGHT’ keys and ‘ENTER’ to select the required function. If the banner disappears pressing ‘ENTER’ brings it back.
The last icon on the banner selects the repeat settings:
STANDARD will stop playing music after reaching the end of the last track on the Memory Source.
REPEAT ONE will repeat the current track only.
DIR REPEAT will start playing the first track after reaching the last track on the Memory Source.
Fast Forward and Rewind each has 2x , 3x, 4x, and 5x speed settings. Pressing FAST FORWARD or REWIND on the remote will change speed. To play at normal speed again either press ‘PLAY’ or pressing FAST FOWARD or REWIND to scroll through different
speeds until normal play commences.
COMBO
PLAYING MUSIC WHILST WATCHING A SLIDESHOW OF PICTURES
On the Main Title Screen, use the ‘DIRECTION’ keys on the remote control to move the yellow box and then select the COMBO option by pressing ‘ENTER’. Remember, pressing ‘OSD’ at any time will take you back to where you were previously.
You play COMBO (i.e. listening to Music whilst watching a slideshow in exactly the same way as playing a Photo Slideshow.
COMBO ON-SCREEN MENU
When watching the slideshow, pressing ‘ENTER’ on the remote control will bring up the on-screen menu banner. Use the ‘LEFT’ and ‘RIGHT’ keys and ‘ENTER’ to select the required function. The menu banner will disappear after a few seconds if you do not
select any function.
The last icon on the banner selects the repeat settings:

Pressing PAUSE will suspend both the slideshow and music track being played.
MOVIE
PLAYING MOVIES OR FILM CLIPS
To start playing a movie or film clip, on the Main Title Screen, use the ‘DIRECTION’ keys on the remote control to move the yellow box and then select the MOVIE option by pressing ‘ENTER’.
Remember, pressing ‘OSD’ at any time will take you back to where you were previously.
You play movies and film clips in exactly the same way as playing a Photo Slideshow.
MOVIE ON-SCREEN MENU
Whilst a movie file is playing, pressing ‘ENTER’ on the remote control will bring up the on-screen menu banner. Use the ‘LEFT’ and ‘RIGHT’ keys and ‘ENTER’ to select the required function. If the banner disappears pressing ‘ENTER’ brings it back.

WATCHING VIA TV OR MONITOR
Included with the Milan is a set of AV Leads and using these it is possible to view the Digital Photo Frame via a Television or Monitor.
Whilst the Frame is off, insert the ‘Black’ pin on the AV Lead into the AV OUT Socket on the side of the Frame. Insert the ‘Red’, ‘White’ and ‘Yellow’ pins into the corresponding colour sockets on your TV or Monitor.
Turn the Digital Frame on and press the AV button on the Remote. Turn on your TV and select the correct input (it will be highlighted on the TV or Monitor menu). From here you can watch all the content on your Digital Frame via your TV or monitor and control
all the functionality as you would normally.
USING HEADPHONES
It is possible to listen to any sound playing on the Frame via headphones. Plug your headphones (not included) into the Headphone socket in the side of the Photo Frame and sound from the Frame will go through the Headphone and not through the Digital
Frame speakers.
EDIT
TRANSFERRING FILES FROM PC TO MEMORY SOURCE
You can easily transfer files from your Computer to a Memory Source in the Digital Picture Frame or from the Memory Source to a computer meaning you can download files directly to any Memory Card (that is compatible with the Digital Picture Frame).
TRANSFERRING FILES
1. First insert a Memory Card or USB Flash Drive into the relevant slot in the Digital Frame.
2. Take the USB cable that comes with the Digital Frame and insert the USB (large connector) cable into a USB slot in your computer
3. Then turn on your Digital Frame then insert mini USB (smaller connector) cable into the PRINT port on the side of the Digital Picture Frame.
4. After a few moments, the computer will recognise the Memory Source as an external drive (the drive letter will vary on your Computer but is likely to be something like Removable Disk (H:) or (I:)). The Digital Picture Frame will show ‘Connecting PC’.
5. Copy and paste your photo’s directly to the Memory Source / Drive from the Computer. The Computer will be also be able to recognise the files already on your Memory Source which means you can also take files from the Memory Source and copy them to your Computer.
6. Once complete, ‘Eject’ the Memory Source / Drive from the computer (right click on the mouse and select eject) then turn off the Digital Picture Frame, unplug the USB cable from the Computer and Digital Picture Frame and then turn on the Digital Picture Frame.
7. The copied files will now be on the Memory Source and you can activate them as normal.
Note: This will work with both Windows and Apple Mac computers however the process above is explained for WINDOWS XP other Operating systems may vary slightly.
SETTINGS
CHANGING THE SETTINGS FOR YOUR DIGITAL FRAME
To change the various settings, on the Main Title Screen, use the ‘DIRECTION’ keys on the remote control to move the yellow box and then select the SETTINGS option by pressing ‘ENTER’. Remember, pressing ‘OSD’ at any time will take you back to where you were previously.
CHANGING THE LANGUAGE
The Digital Picture Frame can be set to a variety of languages. Choose from Chinese, English, German (Deutsch), French or Spanish. Press ‘RIGHT’ then ‘UP’ and ‘DOWN’ and then ‘ENTER’ to select to the required language.
CHANGE THE WAY THE SLIDESHOW PICTURES CHANGE
Selecting PICTURE SET from the SETTINGS enables you to change the speed that pictures change (SLIDESHOW MODEL) and also the way the pictures change (PICTURE PLAY MODE)
SLIDESHOW MODEL
This sets the time (transition) between photo changes on the slideshow or either Fast, Medium or Slow transition. Use ‘UP’ and “DOWN’ and ‘ENTER’ to select. ‘OSD’ will take you back to Settings screen.
PICTURE PLAY MODE
This sets the way pictures on the slideshow appear such as bottom to top, top-to-bottom etc of just select random. Use ‘UP’ and “DOWN’ and ‘ENTER’ to select. ‘OSD’ will take you back to settings screen.
SETTING THE TIME AND DATE
When using the Calendar Option (Page 13) you will need to change the time. Select CLOCK SET from the Main Settings Screen and change the date and time of the by pressing the ‘UP’ and ‘DOWN’ keys to change minute, hour, day, month and year and also change the clock to show as 12hr or 24hr clock. Press ‘ENTER’ to accept changes and return to Settings screen.
SETTING THE ALARM
Before setting the ALARM function, make sure the time and date are correct. Select ALARM SET from the Main Settings Screen and change the date and time of the alarm, and alarm alert sound type by pressing the ‘UP’ and ‘DOWN’ keys. Press ‘ENTER’ to accept changes and return to Settings screen. Select ‘ON’ or ‘OFF’ to activate the alarm.
CHANGING THE START-UP SCREEN WHEN THE DIGITAL FRAME IS TURNED ON
You can select the start-up screen displayed when the Digital Frame powers on. By selecting PICTURE for example, as soon as you turn the frame on the photo’s on the Memory Source will play. The same for CALENDAR, MUSIC, MOVIE and PLAYLIST (which will take you the Folder Directory on the Memory Source). MODE SELECT will set the start-up to the Main Title Screen. Use ‘UP’ and ‘DOWN’ and ‘ENTER’ to select. ‘OSD’ will take you back to Settings screen.
CHANGE THE COLOUR, BRIGHTNESS AND CONTRAST
Screen Brightness, Contrast and Colour settings can be changed to your own personal style, the same way as you would on your television. This is important so you can set the frame to suit the lighting in the room and the stye of pictures and movies you play. Use ‘UP’ and “DOWN’ and ‘ENTER’ to select. ‘OSD’ will take you back to Settings screen.
RESET THE DIGITAL FRAME TO ORIGINAL SETTINGS
If you want the settings in the Frame to revert to the original settings, such as colour or start-up screen, select DEFAULT SET and press ‘ENTER’ This will only affect Digital Frame Settings and will not affect any content on your Memory Sources.

CALENDAR
To start the Calendar, on the Main Title Screen, use the ‘DIRECTION’ keys on the remote control to move the yellow box and then select the CALENDAR option by pressing ‘ENTER’. Remember, pressing ‘OSD’ at any time will take you back to where you were previously.
The CALENDAR option can be an alternative to showing slideshows and show the time, date and current Calendar month.
